Record installed equipment and systems

Document installed assets for the property and the eventual homeowner record.

How to use it

  1. Open Installed equipment and choose Installed equipment to add a record. Start with a title such as Main HVAC air handler. Add manufacturer, model, serial number, installation date, warranty expiration, and maintenance information as available.
  2. Choose an equipment category such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, pool, solar, or irrigation. Record a location, room or area name and floor; these are descriptive location fields, not new room or map objects.
  3. Associate a construction stage, an existing linked system, and a supporting project document when appropriate. Documents and system selectors show the currently loaded records; load remaining documents before linking older evidence.
  4. Save the record and use Edit equipment details to complete it before recording installation. Installation preserves that evidence; use a new correction record for later changes. Ask the homeowner to verify installed equipment. The homeowner then chooses Save to home systems. On the verified equipment record, Connect equipment care connects that same asset to Appliances, HVAC, Pool, Solar or Irrigation through the existing care workspace; choose an existing group or explicitly create a group. Serial numbers and warranty information remain on the same asset. This does not automatically enable monitoring or notifications. Builders can prepare equipment records but cannot approve their own verification or synchronization.
  5. For a selected product, add its category, manufacturer, model, specifications, product URL, quantity, customer unit price, allowance, and location in Design & selections before requesting approval. Customer-facing totals use exact decimal arithmetic; internal costs belong in private job costs. After approval, open Installation record. Enter the actual installation date, serial number, documented warranty, and maintenance information, then confirm Record installed product. Approved product details and supporting evidence are copied without retyping them.
  6. Use Propose product substitution when an approved uninstalled product changes. Enter a reason and submit a new selection for homeowner review; the prior decision remains recorded. Only an approved replacement supersedes the original; rejected proposals do not. Procurement and installation reject superseded products. Use Open installation record to request homeowner verification and Save to home systems. The equipment retains its selection and revision. Whole approved quantities from 1–100 support separately reviewed installed units. Choose the unit and existing room, then enter its actual serial number, installation date and care information. Each unit retains the approved source selection revision, and repeated submissions do not duplicate it. Starting individual unit tracking makes missing approved units block handoff. Fractional material quantities remain procurement records. Any recorded unit prevents substitution of its source selection. A single-unit selection may reuse an explicitly linked existing system only when its populated identity agrees with the verified record.
  7. Construction equipment records are shared with the homeowner. Optional fields can be left blank; add another asset without waiting for the entire property to be configured.

Active construction collaboration requires the household’s Ark+ entitlement. Household roles and builder permissions still apply. Existing history is preserved when access changes.
