Import and review a property drawing

Use source geometry where available, review scale and destination, then commit selected native elements through the shared editor.

How to use it

  1. Open Floor Plans → Edit Floor Plan → Import drawing, or Open plans from an authorized builder project. Local analysis supports small PDF, PNG/JPEG, SVG and ASCII DXF sources. ResiArk project JSON copies reviewed geometry into an empty, unlinked plan.
  2. Choose pages, layers or named drawing regions. A sheet is not automatically a floor. Review each region’s units and scale against a known measurement; choose the current floor or a new named floor in the existing building. No duplicate property is created.
  3. Review the overlay, opacity and side-by-side destination. Select a path, correct its vertices, retain it as linework or classify it as a room/wall. Keep reviewed pages and regions in a batch, then commit them together. Source dimensions and physical placement offsets are separate from site placement and zoom.
  4. When background imports are configured and the worker is online, larger sources and the supported IFC2X3/IFC4 subset use a private restartable queue. Analysis can finish after the tab closes. The demo uses local browser analysis, which needs the dialog open; pending manual review is not yet a durable saved draft.
  5. IFC uses supported building/storey, swept-solid space, wall and opening evidence; unsupported representations are reported. Worker image analysis may propose explicitly inferred straight lines from clean scans. Neither a scan nor generic vector linework automatically proves walls, rooms, dimensions or installed equipment.
  6. Review every destination, scale, native element and warning before confirming. Sharing a retained original includes all its pages, even pages not selected in the review. Prepare a separate shareable file when needed. Source hashes, parser versions, review reports and supported source identities remain attached.
  7. For a revised source, explicitly match the existing import and review the differences. Only selected elements unchanged since their source baseline may be replaced. Local edits, linked records and protected anchors remain available for review; filenames never authorize replacement.
  8. ResiArk project JSON: Editable native drawing copy. Version 1 project packages up to 2 MB copy reviewed geometry into an empty, unlinked building plan. IDs are remapped; source record links and tenant permissions never authorize access. Embedded previews receive the same image bounds checks.
  9. PDF: Vector linework and text; raster reference. Local: up to 12 pages / 512 KiB. Configured background worker: up to 40 pages / 20 MiB. Review pages or separately calibrated regions and native conversions; scans retain calibrated tracing.
  10. PNG / JPEG: Reference and manual tracing. Local: calibrated reference and tracing, up to 512 KiB. Configured worker: up to 20 MiB; orientation correction and explicitly inferred straight-line candidates for clean scans. No automatic wall/room semantics; supply a known distance.
  11. SVG: Editable vector linework. Lines, polygons, rectangles, circles, ellipses and M/L/H/V/C/Q/Z paths; nested affine transforms and text. Unsupported constructs are reported.
  12. DXF: Editable 2D vector subset. ASCII R12–2018: LINE, LWPOLYLINE, 2D POLYLINE, ARC, CIRCLE, TEXT/MTEXT and nested INSERT. Curves become reviewed segments. Unsupported entities are reported.
  13. IFC: Configured background worker: reviewed semantic subset. IfcOpenShell 0.8.5: IFC2X3/IFC4 vertical IfcExtrudedAreaSolid rectangle or closed polyline profiles. Preserves building/storey source IDs, units, placements, spaces and wall evidence. Other representations are reported; IFCZIP is unsupported. Requires the isolated import worker.
  14. DWG: Not enabled. Export ASCII DXF from the source application. No licensed DWG conversion service is configured.
  15. Native design files: Not enabled. From Revit, SketchUp, Archicad, Chief Architect or Sweet Home 3D, export a 2D DXF, SVG, PDF or image. A native file extension does not imply compatibility.
  16. 3D / scan packages: Not enabled. Export a dimensioned 2D plan. A 3D mesh is not an editable architectural floor plan; LiDAR capture is unavailable.
  17. TIFF / HEIC / WebP: Not enabled. Convert to PNG or JPEG with correct orientation first.

Available with core home records on all plans. Record, storage and processing allowances apply; household roles determine editing access.
