Home systems

Use the Water, Electrical and Environment workspaces

Record assets, enter readings by hand and set thresholds for water, electrical and environment. Live readings come only from a Home Assistant or MQTT bridge you run.

How to use it

  1. Open Home systems and choose Water, Electrical or Environment. Add an asset such as a well pump, an electrical panel or a room sensor. Each asset is also an equipment record, so documents, maintenance and warranty stay on the equipment page.
  2. Add a sensor for each measured quantity and choose its unit. Enter readings by hand at any time. Readings are converted to a standard unit and the value you typed is kept next to it.
  3. To connect live readings, use your local bridge and map the device in Connected Services. No Flume, Emporia, Awair or other vendor connection is provided.
  4. Read the freshness label on every value: Live, Delayed, Stale, Manual, Simulated or Unavailable. A stale value is never shown as current and does not raise an alert. Simulated values never appear in a real workspace.
  5. Set thresholds, flow-continuous rules (for example water never stops for a set time) and rate-of-change rules. Thresholds are yours, not health or safety limits. Leak and flood sensors alert when the value rises above zero.
  6. For electrical, mark each sensor as whole home, branch, source or independent. Only whole-home and independent meters are added into totals. A branch (circuit or sub-meter) explains part of its parent and is never added again. Solar, battery and generator sources are shown on their own line. If branches add up to more than their parent, that is reported as a data problem, not netted away.
  7. Calibration offsets change what you see and the rollups, never the stored readings. Pairs such as PM2.5, PM10, vendor AQI, VOC index and CO2 are kept as separate measures and are not converted between each other.
  8. Alerts on hand-entered readings appear in the workspace but are not emailed or pushed. Use a maintenance schedule for a reminder to retest.

Assets, manual readings and thresholds are available on every plan within system limits (each asset counts as one home system) with editing access. Connected readings and alerts on them require Ark+. Evidence so far is fixture based; no live device or vendor service has been tested.
