Inventory & Locations
Edit floor plans and room structure
Edit floor boundaries, floors, room shapes, walls and explicitly shared floor-level placements.
How to use it
- Choose Maps → Floor Plans. Existing plans open in read-only Floor Plan View. Choose Edit Floor Plan beside the view to edit the selected floor. Use Done Editing to save and return to that floor.
- Edit floorplan shape beside the canvas opens Rectangle, L shape, T shape, and Draw custom building. Place custom corners and choose Use drawn building. The Snap toggle beside the floorplan canvas highlights when snapping is on and prefers exact horizontal and vertical alignment before grid spacing. Turn it off for free positioning. Use Segment to edit and Make segment curved, or Insert curved segment then click an edge. Drag the bend handle or use its arrow keys; Make segment straight removes the bend. Curves persist as approximate boundaries in all views. Click any boundary edge to add an adjustable corner at that position; right-click a corner and choose Delete corner. At least three corners must remain. Arrow keys move a focused corner, Delete removes it, and Shift+F10 opens its menu. Choose Room type and select Add Room. Drag a room to move it, use arrow keys on its focused outline, or choose Select room to edit its dimensions. Walls, doors & windows opens structural tools. Floor plan settings & removal contains measurement units, floor naming, and destructive actions. New room creation saves a stable room location ID. Duplicate floor copies geometry and fixed fixtures; link its new rooms and shared area separately so existing inventory remains on its original floor.
- Shared floor-level placement requires an explicitly linked existing shared area and records assigned to that area without a room association. Do not create new location classifications just to populate the map.
- Room furniture, appliances and room equipment markers never render on the floorplan, even in the editor. Open the room map to organize them.
- Save and history controls are shared across the property hierarchy. Changing a room’s structure retains invalidated placements for review instead of deleting or arbitrarily moving them.
Available with core home records on all plans. Record, storage and processing allowances apply; household roles determine editing access.
